Eric Sardinas & Big Motor
w/ special guest Joanne Shaw Taylor -

Slide blues-rock guitarist Eric Sardinas is a master Dobro player.  His guitar work along with his gruff vocals makes for a thrilling, explosive concert experience.

Sardinas gets his inspiration from a melting pot of influences; R&B, gospel, rock and roll and most tellingly, his profound love of traditional blues forms.  While those influences inexorably shape his playing he's no mere mimic.  Instead, he's reinterpreting them into his own driving contemporary blues / rock sound.  Eric's music hits you like a freight train...Don't miss seeing him live with his band Big Motor!  www.ericsardinas.com

British singer / guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor was 16 years old when she was discovered by Dave
Stewart of The Eurythmics.  Stewart was so impressed with Taylor’s guitar playing that he invited the youngster to join his supergroup, D.U.P. (Da Univerzal Playaz) on a European tour in 2002.

Listening to her breathtaking Ruf Records debut album, White Sugar, it’s safe to say that Joanne is well on the way to succeeding.  Vocally, she has a strong, husky style, sort of understated, and somewhat reminiscent of Joss Stone with its soulfulness at times.  www.joanneshawtaylor.com
Tickets are $15.00.  9pm.

Monte Montgomery -
Monte Montgomery, Acoustic, Guitar
Monte Montgomery

Monte Montgomery has taken the acoustic guitar beyond anyone's expectations. With his amazing fretwork, unique combination finger and pick style playing through trailblazing "chordal" thoroughfares often baffling even the most accomplished players. While Monte remains a huge enigma in the guitar universe, his legendary reputation has spread like wildfire since he appeared on Austin City Limits.

Monte's fretwork has become the benchmark for acoustic guitar players.  In 2004 Monte was named on
Guitar Player Magazine's list of "Top 50 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.Countless articles have been written about Monte describing him as "The Evel Knivel of Guitar," and "The Acoustic Shred Master" just to name a few.

When word about Monte's virtuosity reached the folks at Alvarez Guitars, they quickly took a keen interest and secured Monte's endorsement.  In the meantime Monte's reputation as the Hottest Acoustic Guitarist on the planet was being cultivated as he toured nationwide.  This led to the introduction of the MMY-1 Monte Montgomery Signature Guitar, which was unveiled at the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California in January 2004.   http://www.montemontgomery.com

A brief opening set will be performed by Henry J from "Random Acts of Music."  Tickets are $15.00.  8:30pm.

The Ragbirds -
The Ragvirds, Erin Zindle, Folk, Roots, Afro-beat
The Ragbirds

Female fronted, folk-rock, roots, afro-beat band The Ragbirds began with a desire to create fresh, original music weaving their love of world sounds into the energetic, catchy songs.  The band has come to call this unique blend of styles "infectious global groove".

Led by Erin Zindle, the energetic multi-instrumentalist and fiery front woman called "Highly Impressive" by USA TODAY, The Ragbirds put on a show that is designed to get people thinking, listening and dancing.  She skillfully switches between violin, mandolin, banjo, accordion, and percussion in addition to singing lead vocals, all while dancing!  The Ragbirds musical roots are deeply complex, with Americana, Gypsy, Celtic, Middle-Eastern and Latin influences.  In live performances the band incorporates variations on traditional African drum pieces.  For all the intensity of their live show, this is a band that is not afraid to show their softer side with acoustic tunes that are anything but typical folk.

In October 2008, The Ragbirds replaced their aging tour van with a Ford E-350 diesel van.  They converted the new van to run on Waste Vegetable Oil (the kind of oil your last order of french fries was cooked in) at Full Circle Fuels in Oberlin Ohio.  www.theragbirds.com  Tickets are $10.00.  Showtime is 9pm.

Bill Staines -
Bill Staines, Folk, Singer, Songwriter
Bill Staines

For more than forty years, folk singer / songwriter Bill Staines has traveled back and forth across North America, singing his songs and delighting audiences at festivals, folksong societies, colleges, concerts, clubs, and coffeehouses.  Bill's music is a slice of Americana, reflecting with the same ease his feelings about the prairie people of the Midwest or the adventurers of the Yukon, the on-the-road truckers, or the everyday workers that make up this land.

A New England native, Bill became involved with the Boston-Cambridge folk scene in the early 1960's in Cambridge,
MA.  Bill quickly became a popular performer in the Boston area.  In 1971, a reviewer from the Boston Phoenix stated that he was "simply Boston's best performer."  Bill has continually appeared on folk music radio listener polls as one of the top all time favorite folk artists.  Now, well into his fifth decade as a folk performer, he has gained an international reputation as a gifted songwriter and performer.

Singing mostly his own original songs, Bill Staines has become one of the most popular and durable singers on the
folk music scene today, performing nearly 200 concerts a year and driving over 65,000 miles annually.  He weaves a blend of gentle wit and humor into his performances and one reviewer wrote, "He has a sense of timing to match the best standup comic."  www.acousticmusic.com/staines/   Don't miss seeing Bill Staines live in an intimate setting at The Winchester!  Gary Hall opens the show at 8pm.  Tickets are $12.00.

Sara Haze & Band -
Sara Haze, Pop, Rock
Sara Haze

Although pop, rock artist Sara Haze is surrounded by industry giants with everyone from Randy Jackson to Gene Simmons consulting on her music, it's Sara herself running the show.  Most notably, this sun-bleached blonde Southern California girl is writing the music.

Fans of MTV's reality phenomenon The Hills responded en masse with over 300,000 hits on Sara's MySpace page when her song "My Own Hands To Hold" was used to illustrate a scene depicting a rocky relationship.  With piano-driven chords and a haunting melody line, this song speaks to anyone who didn't get a storybook ending to a relationship.

Sara has impressed industry executives everywhere.  At CMW (Canadian Music Week), Sara was joined on stage by Grammy Award Winning Producer Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette, Dave Matthews, No Doubt) who performed one of her songs with her.  Sara has also performed at the CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival in 2009.

Sara Haze will be performing along with her band for a night of great live music at The Winchester Music Hall.  www.sarahaze.com Tickets are $10.00.  Showtime is 9pm.

Wishbone Ash -
Wishbone Ash, 40th Anniversary, Andy Powell, British, Rock
Wishbone Ash

Wishbone Ash is THE pioneering British twin-lead guitar band that influenced Thin Lizzy and others along with a crop of new, young guitar bands. You can hear echoes of their work in songs by such diverse artists as Steely Dan and Franz Ferdinand.

Formed in October 1969 in London, Wishbone Ash garnered notice in the early days for a unique blend of blues, jazz and English folk. But it was the way the guitars played melodic leads together that would become Wishbone Ash's trademark. A chance jam between Andy [Powell] and Ritchie Blackmore, on a show as openers to Deep Purple prompted Blackmore to recommend them to producer Derek Lawrence who in turn aided their signing with MCA / Universal in L.A.

Today, just as in 1969, Wishbone Ash features founding guitarist Andy Powell, whose name is often associated with the Gibson Flying V, which he has popularized over the years. The current lineup includes Finnish guitar slinger Muddy Manninen and the stalwart rhythm section of bassist Bob Skeat and drummer par excellence, Joe Crabtree.  2009 is also a real milestone for founding member Andy Powell, being the band’s 40th anniversary year.

On the heels of a whirlwind year, promoting their most recent studio album, "The Power of Eternity," Wishbone Ash begins with what has become an annual tradition: a tour of Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Holland, plus dates in Scandinavia, followed by spring tours of the United Kingdom and the United States.  www.wishboneash.com  See them live in Cleveland at The Winchester!  Tickets are $20.00.  Showtime is 9pm.

Johnny A -
Johnny A, Gibson, Custom, Guitar, J.Geils, Peter Frampton
Johnny A

Johnny A is widely regarded as one of America's finest contemporary guitarists.  Gibson thinks so - their Custom Shop designed a Signature Edition guitar per his specific requests which, when it was marketed in 2003, placed him in an exclusive club that included legends like B.B. King, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins, Joe Perry, Pat Martino and Les Paul himself.

He's not a blues guitarist, although he sometimes bends stinging notes like B.B. King.  Nor is he a jazz guitarist, although there are elements of Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell in his music, and Johnny A is certainly not a pure rock guitarist, although he toured with J.Geils and Peter Frampton"What dictates what I do," Johnny A says, "is the song that I'm playing."  Catch him live in an intimate trio performance at The Winchester Music Hall.  www.johnnya.com  Tickets are $15.00.  Showtime is 9pm.
