The Black Lillies -
The Black Lillies, Country, Americana, Roots, Rock, Band
The Black Lillies

Born in the rumbling cab of a stone truck and aged in the oak of Tennessee’s smoky night haunts, The Black Lillies have quickly risen to the forefront of the Americana scene.

Founded in 2008 by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Cruz Contreras (co-founder of Robinella and the CCstringband), The Black Lillies have created their own unique brand of country, roots, rock and blues via Appalachia.

The group also includes electric guitar and pedal steel whiz Tom Pryor and drummer Jamie Cook, both formerly of the everybodyfields, bassist Robert Richards, and vocalist Trisha Gene Brady.

In April 2009, The Black Lillies released Whiskey Angel, their debut recording, which won the 2009 Independent Music Award for Best Album, Americana. The band’s current album, 100 Miles of Wreckage, has so far spent more than five months on the Americana radio Top 40 charts.

Highlights have included stops at festivals including Bonnaroo Music + Arts, Pickathon, CMA Festival & Fan Fair, Americana Music Festival, Four Corners Folk Festival and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion; appearances on National Public Radio’s Mountain Stage, four separate PBS concert specials, and in June 2011, the band’s debut on the Grand Ole Opry.

The Black Lillies continue to tour non-stop, and you’ll leave their show feeling like you’ve witnessed an old-fashioned Southern tent revival. These songs will haunt your thoughts long after the curtain closes, rattling through your head like a crooked screen door slaps against its frame when a storm is coming. www.theblacklillies.com

Commander Cody and Band

Ever since his wild early days as a front man for the Lost Planet Airmen, Commander Cody, a truly unique and iconoclastic figure, has brought his barrel house, rockabilly, boogie-woogie piano playing to the American music scene.  He scored a Top 10 hit off his debut album with the song "Hot Rod Lincoln."

Cody's crew practices a loose-jointed, rollicking brand of bar-room boogie woogie that sounds like it's been steeped in beer fumes.  They are legendary for marathon live shows.  Today, the Commander Cody Band features Comander Cody on vocals and piano, Mark Emerick (Marshall Tucker Band) on guitar, Steve Barbuto on drums, Chris Olsen on pedal steel, and Randy Bramwell on bass.

Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials -
Lil' Ed, The Blues Imperials, Blues, Band, Chicago
Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials

“They blow down the walls. Dim the lights, turn up the stereo, and let the house party begin.”
- Guitar Player Magazine.

“The world’s #1 houserocking blues band.”
- The Boston Globe.

From smoking, authentic electric slide guitar boogies to raw-boned Chicago shuffles to the deepest slow blues, guitarist / vocalist / songwriter Lil' Ed Williams is an awe-inspiring master bluesman. He and his blistering, road-tested band, The Blues Imperials - guitarist Mike Garrett, bassist James "Pookie" Young, drummer Kelly Littleton - are celebrating 20 amazing years together.

Lil' Ed boasts a direct bloodline to blues history - his uncle and musical mentor was the great Chicago slide guitarist, songwriter and recording artist J.B. Hutto. Adding to the legend is Ed's storybook rise, taking him from working in a car wash to entertaining thousands of fans all over the world.

In 2006 he made multiple appearances on Late Night With Conan O'Brien (including a hilarious film with Lil' Ed teaching Conan how to play the blues) culminating with Lil' Ed on stage jamming with O'Brien in front of a television audience in the millions.

The Washington Post describes Williams' music as "contagious wildness." The Philadelphia Inquirer expresses it as "raucous and hugely entertaining."

Caravan of Thieves -
Caravan of Thieves, Music, Band, Gypsy, Swing
Caravan of Thieves

"This zany group brings a touch of vaudeville, over-the-top theatricality, performance art...to their brand of gypsy swing music...those wild and crazy guys (and gal) turned out to be the most pleasant surprise of the day."
- The Huffington Post.

For the past three years, this Caravan of Thieves has roamed the North American continent recruiting a family of avid thrill seekers at their high energy shows.  Driving gypsy jazz rhythms, acoustic guitars, upright bass and violin lay the foundation for mesmerizing vocal harmonies and fantastic stories.

It's theatrical and humorous.  It's musical and intense.  It entertains, dazzles and defies classification while welcoming the spectator to join the band throughout the performance in momentary fits of claps, snaps and sing-alongs.

If Django Reinhardt, the cast of Stomp and The Beatles all had a party at Tim Burton's house, Caravan of Thieves would be the band they hired. www.caravanofthieves.com

Denny Laine
(of Wings & The Moody Blues),
Terry Sylvester (Formerly of The Hollies),
w/ Special Guests:
The Cryers -

Terry Sylvester, Denny Laine, The Cryers, Music
Terry Sylvester, Denny Laine, The Cryers

Denny Laine joined The Moody Blues and sang their first big hit, "Go Now" in 1964. Denny joined Paul McCartney to found the group known as Wings in 1971, and would stay with them for a full ten years until they officially disbanded in 1981.

Together with Paul McCartney and his wife (the late Linda) in Wings, Denny provided guitars, backing vocals, keyboards, bass, writing and co-writing skills. It was with Wings that Denny enjoyed the biggest commercial and critical successes of his career, including co-writing the smash hit "Mull of Kintyre." www.dennylaine.com

Terry Sylvester was sharing the stage with the Beatles regularly in and around Liverpool and at the world famous
Cavern Club, fronting his own group the Escorts when he was 16 years old.

In January 1966, the then 18 year old Terry was asked to join The Swinging Blue Jeans. They had a number of hits including "Hippy Hippy Shake," "Good Golly Miss Molly" & "You're No Good."

In December 1968, Graham Nash left the Hollies to form Crosby, Stills, & Nash. The remaining members of the Hollies asked Terry to join, and the rest (as they say) is history. Terry's first album with them, Hollies Sing Dylan, went all the way to number 1.

Soon after they recorded "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" with the then unknown session man Elton John playing piano. The song  became a world wide hit. More hits followed including U.S. number 1, "Long Cool Woman, In A Black Dress," and the 1974 universal classic love song, "The Air That I Breathe."

Terry has been awarded 5 Platinum, 9 Gold, and 6 Silver Discs so far in his career. On March 15th, 2010 he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. www.terrysylvester.com

The Cryers will open the show and also accompany Denny Laine and Terry Sylvester as each performer's backing band.

Tickets are $25.00. Showtime is 8pm.

Savoy Brown
CD Release Show -

Savoy Brown, Kim Simmonds, Blues, Rock, Band
Savoy Brown

"The new lineup holds up the band's tradition of excellence admirably. Simmonds' guitar still smokes just like it did when Savoy Brown was opening for Cream and backing up John Lee Hooker in the 60's."
- Blogcritics.org.

Legendary...a blues / rock institution...true innovators. These are just a few of the ways Savoy Brown has been described over the past forty years by music critics and fans.

One of the earliest of British blues bands, Savoy Brown, with founder guitarist Kim Simmonds at the helm, helped launch the 1967 UK blues boom movement that brought blues music back to the USA invigorating the style forever.

In the
process, Savoy Brown became part of the framework that launched the rock and roll music of the 1970’s. Their influence now stretches into modern rock as we know it today.

In 1971, “Street Corner Talking” brought the band its best chart success up to that date. “Tell Mama,” “Street Corner Talking,” “All I Can Do Is Cry,” and the band’s funky re-make of the Motown classic, “I Can’t Get Next To You,” took Savoy Brown to platinum status and placed them in front of wildly enthusiastic rock audiences in arenas all over the world.

In 2009, after nearly a decade of singing lead vocals and wanting to concentrate once again on his guitar playing, Kim Simmonds brought in Joe Whiting as lead singer. Savoy Brown thus became a four piece aggregation with Garnet Grimm on drums and Pat DeSalvo playing bass.

From London’s Soho night clubs in 1966 to headlining the world’s most famous venues (Carnegie Hall, Fillmore’s East and West, Cobo Hall, etc) Savoy Brown has done it all and as the band continues to tour worldwide they give a glimpse into the past and also inspire new listeners with their personal brand of rocking boogie, blues and rock. www.savoybrown.com

A Night of Great Blues:
Damon Fowler,
Victor Wainwright &
JP Soars -

Damon Fowler, Victor Wainwright, JP Soars, Blues, Music, Guitar, Piano

"[Damon Fowler has] the complete package: facile fervor on a Tele, a lap-steel, and a flattop with a truly compelling vocal style and soulful, sound writing."
- Guitar Player Magazine.

Damon Fowler's guitar work has been compared to Johnny Winter and Jeff Beck, while his slide guitar has a hint of the late Duane Allman. He can play fiery guitar runs with the best of them, but it's his lyrical work on lap steel and Dobro that makes him stand out among the legions of guitar heroes.  With his hybrid of roots rock, blues, and sacred steel, Fowler wows audiences as one of the hottest young players on the scene, with critics extolling his originality and maturity as well as his technical guitar expertise.  www.damonfowler.com

“[Victor Wainwright's album Lit Up] is straight-up Blues of the first order; an entertaining listen from top to bottom
and rates 5 stars. Check out this musical offering and hear the future of the Blues for yourself.”
- American Blues News.

Victor Wainwright is a singer, pianist, and “hepcat” from Memphis, Tennessee. He is a raucous high-octane dynamic performer and crowd pleaser with soul to spare who is making a name for himself in a big way. Victor plays power-house blues, Memphis soul, and roots rock’n’roll featuring high-octane boogie piano and big soul vocal sounds.  www.victorwainwright.com

"[Blues guitarist] JP Soars is one of those rare young guitar slingers that can play anything, anywhere, at any time.
The blues world is fortunate to have him. He studied the music of the blues greats as well as jazz players such as Wes Montgomery and Django Reinhardt, and jump-blues bandleader Louis Jordan.  You can find evidence of his mentors in his
arrangements. Give a listen to "Back Of My Mind" and see why JP soars high, long, and far as a Bluesman!!"
- Music City Nashville.

JP Soars & his band took the blues world by storm by winning the coveted 25th annual International Blues Challenge (IBC) in 2009. Soars also individually won the Albert King Award, for best guitar player in the 2009 International Blues Challenge.  www.jpsoars.com

Jimmy Thackery
& The Drivers -

Jimmy Thackery, Blues, Guitar
Jimmy Thackery

"The venerable road warrior's formidable chops, combined with his phenomenally broad roots-music lexicon makes for multiple-chorus solo romps that are just as ear-grabbing a dozen verses in as when they begin."
- Duane Verh, Jazz & Blues Report.

Whether Jimmy Thackery headlines a festival or jams in one of the blues bars that dot the musical landscape, he'll always unleash an intense volley of rockin' blues guitar guaranteed to leave crowds emotionally spent.

It was Thackery's time on stage with Muddy Waters that is branded deep within his musical soul. He's one of the few blues guitarists who learned first hand from the masters of the blues, not off a record or DVD.

Though most associate Jimmy with his 15 years as the co-founder of the Nighthawks, he ended his time with them in 1987. Since then, Jimmy has been on the road touring, currently with his trio, The Drivers, proving each night that he is still the guitar powerhouse in the blues. www.jimmythackery.com

Wishbone Ash -
Wishbone Ash, Guitar, Rock, Band
Wishbone Ash

Wishbone Ash is THE pioneering British twin-lead guitar band that influenced Thin Lizzy and others along with a crop of new, young guitar bands. You can hear echoes of their work in songs by such diverse artists as Steely Dan and Franz Ferdinand.

Formed in October 1969 in London, Wishbone Ash garnered notice in the early days for a unique blend of blues, jazz and English folk. But it was the way the guitars played melodic leads together that would become Wishbone Ash's trademark.

A chance jam between Andy Powell and Ritchie Blackmore, on a show as openers to Deep Purple prompted Blackmore to
recommend them to producer Derek Lawrence who in turn aided their signing with MCA / Universal in L.A.

Today, just as in 1969, Wishbone Ash features founding guitarist Andy Powell, whose name is often associated with the Gibson Flying V, which he has popularized over the years.

The current lineup includes Finnish guitar slinger Muddy
Manninen and the stalwart rhythm section of bassist Bob Skeat and drummer par excellence, Joe Crabtree. www.wishboneash.com

Tickets are $20.00. Showtime is 9pm.

Glen Phillips
of Toad The Wet Sprocket -

Glen Phillips, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Singer, Songwriter
Glen Phillips

Glen Phillips started his first band, Toad The Wet Sprocket, in Santa Barbara at age 15. He served as the frontman and main songwriter in the band. It was Toad's third album - the jangling, orchestral Fear - that truly broke the group, garnering heavy radio play with the singles "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean."

After three years away from the recording studio, Toad returned to the mainstream with Dulcinea, which again found one of its singles, "Fall Down," in heavy radio rotation. After six albums and a substantial string of hits, the group disbanded in 1998.

Phillips began touring as a solo act after Toad the Wet Sprocket's demise, and has since released 5 solo records and two EPs.

He has also collaborated on other projects: (Mutual Admiration Society and Works Progress Administration (WPA) w/ Sean
Watkins of Nickel Creek and Luke Bulla from Lyle Lovett’s Large Band), released an EP with Plover (with Neilson Hubbard and Garrison Starr) and an album as RemoteTreeChildren (with Portland's John Askew).

In 2006, Glen toured North America with a reunited Toad the Wet Sprocket. Toad has toured off and on since that time,
and in 2011 played 70 shows and decided to begin writing for a new album, to be released late in 2012.  www.glenphillips.com

This show will feature Glen Phillips performing in a solo acoustic format. Electroacoustic folk singer / songwriter
Robert Lloyd Peeples opens the show.

Tickets are $20.00. Showtime is 9pm.

Phil Keaggy -
Phil Keaggy, Guitar, Songwriter, Glass Harp
Phil Keaggy

Phil Keaggy is perhaps one of the most admired guitarists in music  today.

Phil Keaggy's fans range from those who aspire just
to be able to play his mistakes, to professional musicians who have been strongly influenced by his style.  And in-between are those who don't play guitar, yet find solace in his beautifully penned lyrics and memorable melodies.

One of the most sought after studio guitarists, Phil also continues to sell out concerts all over the United States, with his ever changing style, ranging from rock-and-roll to fully orchestrated instrumental compositions.

It wasn't until 1970, when Phil's band Glass Harp (with childhood friend John Sferra on drums, and Dan Pecchio on
bass) recorded their self-titled first album that people really began to take notice of this incredibly gifted guitar player.

By 1972, Phil saw his life going in a different direction, and made the tough decision to leave Glass Harp and pursue a solo career.  His first solo album,  "What A Day," was recorded in just a week's time during January 1973.

These days, Phil Keaggy continues to delight audiences all over the US performing primarily acoustic shows.  He is aware that God gave him a calling to deliver the Gospel through his music, and for over 30 years, Phil Keaggy has been grateful to do just that, and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to come.  www.philkeaggy.com

Tickets are $25.00. Showtime is 9pm.
